Lucene Queries - Basic Operators

Step-by-Step Walkthrough:

Step 1: 

 - Go to: https://prod.helixfind.baintools.com/

Step 2:

- Open the 'input field'

Unconditional Search:

- You can search specific company by entering its name or search by 1 specific keyword for a broad set of companies, in this example, the search is conducted for companies that have something to do with "fish"

 

'OR' Expressions:

- Type in OR operator and add other keyword you would like to search for

- The OR function will expand your search and will show all companies that have either "fish" or "pork" in the description

'AND' Expressions:

- Type in AND operator and add other keyword you would like to search for

- The AND operator will narrow your search and will show all companies that have both "fish" or "pork" in the description

'NOT' Expressions:

- Type in NOT function and add any keyword you would like to exclude

- The NOT functions similar to AND but shows all companies that satisfy expression before NOT, and do not include keyword(s) after NOT operator, in this example there will be companies that have "fish" but not "pork" in the description

Step 3:

- Click 'Apply' to view updated results
