Search - Overview Guide

In this short guide we would like to explain the 3 main search options on the Helix platform:

• Keyword: Lucene Query (Boolean Logic)

  • Use Terms to describe your target companies, e.g. "e-learning" OR "online courses."

• Match: Single-Word Search

  • Use company names, URLs, or descriptions e.g., "Amazon"

• Smart search: Search by Phrase (ChatGPT powered)

  • Use sentences e.g. "Production of biofuel from algae."

Step-by-Step Walk-through:

Step 1: 

 - Go to: https://prod.helixfind.baintools.com/

Step 2: 

- Make sure you navigate to 'Search screen'

Keyword Search

- Click the icon to the right of the 'search field'

- Initially search type is set to 'keyword', let's open 'advanced search' field by clicking the icon

Step 4:

- Type in your search query

- In this example it is: "fish" AND ("pork" OR "beef" OR "lamb" OR "chicken") NOT ("food products" OR "machinery")

Step 5:

- Click on 'Apply'

Match Search

- Click on 'Keyword'

- Click on 'Match'

Step 8:

- Type "Amazon"

- This search option is designed to search directly for company names, URL's or description. Let's try to search for Amazon company

Step 9:

- Click on 'Amazon.com, Inc.'

Smart Search

- The last search type is "Smart search", let's navigate to this search option

- Click on 'Match'

- Click on 'Smart search'

- This search allows users to convert sentences to search queries automatically. It is useful when you don't know your exact keywords so that Helix Find can build and structure them for you, and afterwards you can fine-tune them to find your desired list of companies.

Step 12:

- Type "Production of fish and pork" and press Enter

- Let's see how "smart" search will convert "Production of fish and pork" into query

Step 13:

- Check the converted query

- From this point on, you can verify and fine-tune your query by adding extra keywords or deleting excessive keywords.
